Light has always been synonymous with beauty, goodness, cheerfulness and health. We talk about a healthy glow, how someone is full of light, radiant with beauty, light hearted. We tell people to lighten up or you light up my life.
In this video we'll mainly be looking at Light for Health and Healing, as well as DARKNESS and Circadian rhythms. You need to master Both light and dark to become a Jedi Light Master.
Light has been used in medicine for thousands of years. The ancient Egyptians, Romans, Greeks and other major cultures made significant medical use of light.
The Greeks were actually the first to document both the theory and practice of solar therapy. And at the temple of Heliopolis, patients were treated in rooms specifically designed to break up the rays of the sun into different colors, specific ailments dictating the color of the room the patients would need to lie in.
The Greeks used to refer to sunning the body as Heliosis after their sun God Helios. The Greek physician Soranus of Ephesus and Greek surgeon Antyllus prescribed heliosis for many chronic diseases.
Even Socrates prescribed light therapy for depression: when he observed what he termed ‘winter melancholy’ in his patients, he suggested they take a holiday to the coast to soak up the sun.
Also interestingly, the Greeks used to exercise or train in the nude (gymnasium literally is translated into a place for nude exercise.
The Romans were also great believers in the sun's healing rays. They mistrusted doctors and instead relied on sanitation, good water supplies, hygiene, exercise and sunbathing to keep themselves healthy. Roman scholar Pliny the elder, who was a fierce critic of doctors in his day, described sunbathing as the best of all "self administered remedies."
With the fall of the Roman empire, sunlight therapy fell from favor... In rome as in greece it was linked with pagan sun worshipping. And so LITERALLY began the DARK AGES!!

What is light (aka The Photon)?

When we think of light we think of visible light (and colours) that we see, but this is only a tiny portion of the electromagnetic spectrum – between 400 to 700 nanometers. At the limits of these two points the frequencies change in intensity which our eyes cannot perceive. Visible light is simply the range of electromagnetic radiation which human eyes are sensitive to.
Light itself is made up of incredibly small (tiny) mass-less particles or ‘quanta’ called photons that travel as quantum WAVES but interact with matter like particles that carry energy, momentum (and information). As we'll see in this video, light, especially light from the Sun is the very cornerstone of life itself. But something so seemingly simple is one of the most diffilcult concepts in all of physics, needing a full treatment of general relativity and QED (quantum electrodynamics)
The quantum waves of light (in QED) contain ALL the weirdness of quantum mechanics AND relativity which LIFE utilizes (new science of quantum biology). Twin paradox, time dialation, length contraction, E=mc^2, Tunneling, bilocation, teleportation, superposition, entanglement, wave particle duality, quantum information, quantum computing and more.
But for simplicity and practicality of this video we'll look at LIGHT IS many a carrier of ENERGY and INFORMATION (think radio waves which are bundles of lower frequency light). AND also as the basis of matter itself - particle pair production. Light seems to zip in and out of the vacuum of space contributing to the zero point energy that pervades the universe.

He saw that through the process of photosynthesis, the sun's energy is stored in plants, which are in turn eaten by animals and humans. Digestion and assimilation by animals and humans are concerned with breaking down, transferring, storing and utilizing this light-created energy.
Szent-Gyorgyi also discovered that many enzymes and hormones in processing this energy are colored and very sensitive to light (more on this in a bit). Have you ever noticed when you meet someone how much the eyes reveal? Sad, happy, dishonest, light or lack of light. The eyes as they subtly interact and synchronize with someone elses, regulate the language of communication.
The eyes are an extension of the brain (only part of the brain external), and while the eyes and brain represent only 2% of body weight, they require 25% of nutritional intake. The eyes alone use 1/3 as much oxygen as the heart!! Housing 70% of sense receptors, the eyes are the entry point for approximately 90% of all the information we learn in a lifetime. 3 billion messages relayed to the brain each second, 2 billion are from the eyes! Wow!
Eyesight is merely a small aspect of a dynamical process we call vision. Occiptal and image creations... Then Think of emotions images can trigger correctly or incorrectly perceived.

Iridologists are careful not to diagnose disease BUT they can use Iris analysis to reveal abnormal tissue conditions, inflammations, and toxic organs and tissues. They can further reveal body-tissue integrity, which if not intact can be a precursor for disease.
A study in 1989 by Russian scientists found 100% correlation between findings of iridology and actual physical conditions of 150 subjects evaluated.
Interesting to me is the idea that full spectrum light and color therapy can literally DIRECTLY energize all the tissues and organs in the body as they are hard wired to the Iris (and Sclera). This is similar to acupressure, reflexology and other techniques that utilize the holographic and interconnected nature of the body.

Human Photosynthesis? The Future?

We are literally light beings, living photocells capable of deriving energy and sustenance from light using molecules such as Melanin, Chlorophyll, Hemoglobin, Porphyrine, Billirubin, Cytochromes, Catalases, DNA and more.

Biophotons - We truly are Beings of Light

In living systems and processes, certain types of photons are emitted and received primarily by DNA as well as a few large macromolecules.
These biophotons are extremely coherent and serve as a function of communications, stimulation of biochemical reactions, and coordination within the body. Biophotons appear to create a holographic, coherent electromagnetic field throughout the body that uses electromagnetic frequencies for instantaneous communication throughout the system. So Now that you SEE the body is primarily energized and organized BY LIGHT, next we'll see that light is an essential Nutrient, Element of health and how we can use light to energize our bodies and supercharge our health.
A. Heliotherapy Worship the Sun (but respect it's power)

Sunbathing is one of life's great pleasures. Exposing our skin to the gentle warmth of the sun rays not only helps us look healthy but it just feels good. This section on light therapy will literally shed light on why it feels so good.
Heliotherapy (aka Sunbathing) - Contrary to what you may have been told, bathing in the SUN is very healthy, in fact AN ESSENTIAL ELEMENT OF HEALTH!! And it is more than just Vitamin D, try to think of the sun as a full spectrum Multi-Vit-A-MIN or better yet A multi-light-a-min

5. SunGazing - If time allows in your schedule it is great. Basically you look straight at the sun while it is within around 15 minutes of setting (or rising). The atmosphere at this point has filtered most of the UV and visible light save mainly the red end of the spectrum. That's the condition I now call malillumination, a lack of the necessary amount of sunlight, just as malnutrition is a lack of the proper nutrients in our diets.
Malillumination occurs when wavelengths are missing in various types of artificial light or are filtered from natural light passing through window glass, windshields, eyeglasses (particularly tinted contact lenses or sunglasses), smog, and even suntan lotions. INFRARED (IR) gives us warmth by deeply penetrating into our body. Maintaining a stable body temperature is essential, otherwise our bodies become stressed by temperatures too cold or too hot. The infrared component of sunlight gives us the sensation of “warmth”. Infrared saunas are a great investment for detoxifying your body while keeping your body looking and feeling great. Also as we saw in Module 3 on Water, IR (especially FIR - Far Infrared) is the best at creating EZ water (energized water than stores energy and information) in your body.
Light Energizes water in the body ESPECIALLY Far Infrared which Dr Pollack found to be the MOST powerful (around 3000 nm = 3um which is Far Infrared to Middle Infrared).

The stored electrical energy in water can drive various kinds of work, including flow. An example is the axial flow through tubes. Immersing tubes made of hydrophilic materials into water produces flow through those tubes (3), similar to blood flow through blood vessels (Figure 2).

- Pre sauna session, hydrate with at least 8 ounces of water to prepare your body for an increase in core body temperature. It is best to maintain peak hydration throughout the day by drinking half of your body weight in ounces of water.
- To get your body accustomed to infrared therapy, start with 10-15 minute sessions at 100°F every other day. The optimal sauna experience occurs between 100° and 130°
- Gradually increase session length towards 40 minute daily sessions at the optimal temperature range
- Don’t be surprised if you don’t sweat during the first few sessions. Sweating will increase with regular use, removing toxins and leaving you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
- Listen to your body and be aware of excessive detoxifying. If you begin to feel flu-like symptoms, discontinue use and take a few days off.
- Post sauna session, drink at least 24 ounces of water or electrolytes to rehydrate. Take a cool shower right away OR Dry off with a clean towel if that is not possible.

Light Emitting Diode (LED) phototherapy is the application of light energy to tissue to obtain therapeutic benefits. The energy is used to improve cellular performance. Phototherapy is known for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties and has a variety of applications across many medical fields. experimentally that biophotons exhibit multimode coherent properties akin to laser light (26) and not merely spontaneous chemiluminescence which is chaotic. One example is the unusually high transparency of tissue to biophoton light. It is an interesting phenomenon, which coincides with “light piping” in plant tissues, by which nature apparently ensures that several centimeters of cellular cytoplasm hardly attenuate the amplitude of biophoton intensity. Experimental data of the extinction coefficient of wet sea sand and soya cells at 550 nm from a Guilford spectrophotometer, compared to biophotons emitted by cucumber seedlings passing through the same sand and soya, reveal the lowest value (a
constant 0.2/mm value for E/d) for the biophotons passing through 5 cm of soya cell cultures (27). intercellular communication implies information transmission. The total number of biophotons emitted by normal cells, when exposed to white light, decreases, not exponentially but with a hyperbolic relaxation of photon intensity after exposure, extending up to an hour. “Under ergodic conditions, hyperbolic decay is a 29 sufficient condition for coherent rescattering.”
The emission of biophoton light by cancerous cells when exposed to white light, versus the slow decline in emission levels by healthy cells upon irradiation by white light, demonstrates a remarkable difference (see Figure 1). The HTC cell curve, representing malignant liver cells shows an exponential increase in activity with a linear cell density increase. The weakly malignant cells (H35 cells) show a slight increase, while the normal (Hepatoczytes) display a linear decrease with increasing cell density as they store the light energy. One proposed cellular communication hypothesis might correlate the experimental rate of biophoton emission vs. density with stimulating mitosis or proliferation. Normally a cellular colony would reduce such multiplication upon receiving evidence of overcrowding. Instead, cancer cells not only have no such limits, as is well-known, but the evidence suggests a tendency, as seen in Figure 1, for positive feedback, if such a correlation exists. Growth regulation through biophoton emission normally follows a nonlinear (proportional to the square of the number of cells) inhibition, confirmed by experiment, which shows a capacity for coherent superpositionof biophoton modes (30).

experimentally that biophotons exhibit multimode coherent properties akin to laser light (26) and not merely spontaneous chemiluminescence which is chaotic. One example is the unusually high transparency of tissue to biophoton light. It is an interesting phenomenon, which coincides with “light piping” in plant tissues, by which nature apparently ensures that several centimeters of cellular cytoplasm hardly attenuate the amplitude of biophoton intensity. Experimental data of the extinction coefficient of wet sea sand and soya cells at 550 nm from a Guilford spectrophotometer, compared to biophotons emitted by cucumber seedlings passing through the same sand and soya, reveal the lowest value (a
constant 0.2/mm value for E/d) for the biophotons passing through 5 cm of soya cell cultures (27). intercellular communication implies information transmission. The total number of biophotons emitted by normal cells, when exposed to white light, decreases, not exponentially but with a hyperbolic relaxation of photon intensity after exposure, extending up to an hour. “Under ergodic conditions, hyperbolic decay is a 29 sufficient condition for coherent rescattering.”
The emission of biophoton light by cancerous cells when exposed to white light, versus the slow decline in emission levels by healthy cells upon irradiation by white light, demonstrates a remarkable difference (see Figure 1). The HTC cell curve, representing malignant liver cells shows an exponential increase in activity with a linear cell density increase. The weakly malignant cells (H35 cells) show a slight increase, while the normal (Hepatoczytes) display a linear decrease with increasing cell density as they store the light energy. One proposed cellular communication hypothesis might correlate the experimental rate of biophoton emission vs. density with stimulating mitosis or proliferation. Normally a cellular colony would reduce such multiplication upon receiving evidence of overcrowding. Instead, cancer cells not only have no such limits, as is well-known, but the evidence suggests a tendency, as seen in Figure 1, for positive feedback, if such a correlation exists. Here light and color (as refracted light energy) enters the body is through the retina, which is made up of light sensitive photoreceptors that converts light energy into electrical and chemical signals which in turn is processed by our brain.
Path 1A leads to other paths in cerebral hemispheres where there is an association between vision and other cerebral functions. Path 1B leads to the midbrain limbic center, where emotions are initiated and processed. Here the amygala, which triggers powerful emotinal states such as fear or pleasure can be activated by visual images. Emotions are VERY MUCH light sensitive.
